Chad Durbin
Showcase U, Co-Founder
Chad Durbin has been a professional athlete for 13 years. He is currently pitching for the Philadelphia Phillies and on his 5th Major League Baseball club. Chad was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in June of 1996 and spent three years in the Minor Leagues before receiving a Major League call-up in September of 1999. In September of 2002, he underwent Tommy John Surgery. Chad has also played for the Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks, Detroit Tigers, and his current team the Philadelphia Phillies.
Chad went to Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he won honors as the Class 4-A Most Valuable Player as a shortstop. He signed a letter of intent to attend Louisiana State University following his high school career. Chad also lettered in Basketball for three years in high school.
The idea behind Showcase U came from Jake Chapman, Co-Founder of Showcase U. The idea struck a chord with Chad and the results are the structure built at Showcase U. Helping student-athletes and their parents with the sometimes difficult process of understanding recruiting is the team’s goal at Showcase U. Chad is dedicated to provide resources and community through the website.

Chad is married to his wife Crystal. The couple was blessed with a son in August 2007. Chad was born in Spring Valley, Illinois and moved to Louisiana in 1990. The family resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
