Two words that have many synonyms: strength, stamina, toughness, staying power. Those are just a few I found in Microsoft Word!!!
The physical attributes defining an athlete use these words too: strength, stamina, power, but how come a lot of us have forgotten those two words? Patience and Resilience.
To experience the highest levels of success as an athlete, these traits are essential. Success cannot be expected overnight. It doesn’t come easy. Success isn’t going to come knocking at your door. You have to create it. But so many of us want it to happen the easy and quick way. Some even expect it to occur this way. But unfortunately, most will continue waiting their whole life for the knock at the door.
I’m sure you know that one person who gets everything they ever want handed to them. They never seem to work for it, but for some reason, they get what they want. In professional sports, you hear that all the time. Let me ask about that one person you think is like that. Do you really know them well enough to assume that? Are you with them every single hour of the day to accurately assume that they have done nothing to achieve their rewards?
Well, winning the lottery is definitely real. But trusting that you are that needle in the haystack is not something I’d suggest.
Creating success in life is an admirable journey. Along this road, you will experience failure. How will you handle this? Will you learn or give up? It takes years and years of practice to make perfect. It takes motivation and hard work. This type of success will last a lifetime. Again, it’s a journey, not a weekend getaway!
Success requires Patience and Resilience.
The majority of the premier athletes you watch everyday on TV, have these traits! They’ve achieved their high levels of success the “hard” way.
