Baseball Recruiting About More Than Baseball

Baseball Recruiting About More Than Baseball
I'm sitting here in the early morning thinking about what going
through the baseball recruiting process would change about a young athlete's life. As I think about it, I'm reminded that playing
baseball at the college level is about much more than baseball. It's
about a higher education and possibly getting a scholarship, which
helps a player and his/her family get a discount on school. School is expensive, but wherever a player attends college--Junior College or Stanford, those years spent advancing their education will last for the rest of their lives.
Baseball recruiting is also a process in which families and coaches
learn how important it is to market their athlete to colleges.
Colleges can only recruit the players they find out about, in my
opinion. Whether it's through a scout who forwards some important information, or through an assistant coach happening by a talented shortstop while recruiting someone else...colleges can't recruit a player they don't see. With ShowcaseU, I feel the family and the student athlete gain critical ground in exposure. The more coaches that see the player, the better chance the player has of finding the right school, too.
